Controversy over αὐθεντεῖν (authentein)

The only use in the New Testament?

Means to murder someone's authority so what is forbidden is a woman's usurping of authority as it would be for any gender. What is not forbidden is her doing any teaching per se.

Looking at Greek today and we discussed this.

I disagree. 1 Corinthians 11:3-9 grounds male kephale in Genesis 2 and Ephesians 5:24 makes it clear that kephale implies male authority and leadership. "For Adam first was formed..." in 1 Timothy 2:13 brings with it this notion of male authority and leadership.
