Irenaeus on Christ and the Church

Approx AD 170 Ireneaeus wrote :

'Those... who do not participate in the Spirit neither feed at their mother's breasts not drink the bright fountain issuing from Christ's body.'

Irenaeus of Lyons, Against Heresies 3:24.1

This is interesting imagery. Christ is fountain or source and the Spirit is identified with a mother's breasts. If you want to explore the female imagery of the Church and God, you can contribute to a book on this very topic. H/t Peter Carrell

Janice and David Ould are having a very interesting discussion about 'source' language here.
