Semper reformanda needs re-asserting. Why is the ABoC and + York are so worried about 'coolness' with Rome if women succeed to the episcopate? The RC and the CofE will always be at odds. It is in the very make-up of Anglicanism to be a church that continually reforms and rejoices in fresh expressions of the spirit - surely women in the church is of God - it is causing problems too, I know - but so too did the Reformation but it was necessary. Healing can be a painful process and God does prune in order that fruit be plentiful and healthy. See Thinking Anglicans
As the post below reveals, it might be only a matter of time before the Catholic Church finds itself embroiled in similar arguments amongst its members!
