Focus on God
Our church runs FOG - fortnightly 7-9pm. It is sooo beautiful. We bask in God's glory, reflect on his might and mercy and just breathe in the fragrance (metaphorically speaking). We meet with the Holy Spirit and just literally, quietly, creatively, exuberantly 'focus on God'. What an absolute privilege. We repent and are forgiven. We explore the beauty and the suffering. Tonight we focussed on creation. How God made us not to 'lord it over' our world but to serve it and what that might mean for the way we live our lives and this song set my soul on fire:
Great is the LORD!!
Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise
The city of our God, the holy place The joy of the whole earth
Great is the Lord in whom we have the victory
He aids us against the enemy We bow down on our knees
And Lord, we want to lift Your name on high
And Lord, we want to thank You For the works You've done in our lives
And Lord, we trust in Your unfailing love
For You alone are God eternal
Throughout earth and heaven above
Go on sing along with me - how can you not?
If anyone knows a more uptempo online version please contact me. I'll be singing this song all week.
Ordained Anglican. Thinking out loud about church.
