Archbishop Deng...said it was unlikely any of the bishops would be willing to speak with Bishop Robinson or listen to his story.

Mike Barwell, a spokesman for Bishop Robinson, said that the Bishop of New Hampshire has been clear from the beginning that he would not resign. Mr. Barwell said even if Bishop Robinson were to resign, the issue of gay bishops and priests would not go away.

“I will not talk to him until he confesses that he has made a mistake,” Archbishop Deng said. “You cannot bring listening to the table in a way that changes the Bible.”
