Suzanne McCarthy has looked at issues in the TNIV regarding translation and the work of the famous complementarian Wayne Grudem, the champion of biblical hierarchical roles for men and women and women's submission. He is not a fan of mutual submission. She refutes his work. I mean to start reading Wayne Gudem at some point in more detail but will read the work of this woman alongside it. Wayne Grudem's views are also available online at http://www.efbt100.com. You could literally open up two windows and read McCarthy at the same time as you read Grudem in order to decide which makes for the most convincing case.
